What types of books do you write?
I write the kind of stories I enjoy reading. Stories with believable characters, intelligent plot and a high level of heat.
My stories explore themes not normally associated with traditional romance stories. Subjects like ethical non-monogamy, open marriages and group sex are examples of what you can expect from a Natalie Hothorne story.
What inspired you to become a writer?
Growing up in Key West, a community rich in literary history inspired me to be a writer. Hemingway is the best known author to call the island home, but Judy Blume was my hero. I dreamed of one day being a published author just like her.
How long have you been writing?
I have always been a writer, but until recently I didn't have the courage to submit any of my stories for publication. On Valentine's day of last year, Loving Laurie, an erotic love story, was released on Amazon. On my 52nd birthday, I finally became a published author.
The 12 books I have published since then are also erotica. I am not sure Judy would approve. My mother certainly does not. She is always asking, “Why can’t you write stories like that nice Macomber girl.”
Where do you get your ideas from?
I am blessed to enjoy a rich and diverse sex life. My second husband, Neil, is very supportive and loving. Like my first husband, he understands my need for self exploration and that it sometimes involves other lovers. I believe that my experiences help make me a better writer.
